(Educate Inspire Change | Jade Small) If you’re already feeling a little emotional today, perhaps give watching the new Disney Pixar short film about an abused pitbull and his unlikely friend a skip today.

Heart-warming short film about animal abuse

Kitbull is all about a pitbull who is owned by an awful human who abuses him, on his journey towards recovery he meets an alley cat who becomes his best friend. Not only does this heart warming short film bring awareness to a very important matter, it’s really adorable and after all the tears, you will be left smiling.

The dog spends his life chained outside in all weather conditions, with no grass or freedom, and uable to play or run around like all dogs should be able to do. Its obvious he is being kept and trained for dog fighting.

As we watch on, the poor pitbull is checked outside and chained with his open wounds and injuries from fighting not being cared for. Eventually he meets the alley cat and they become unlikely BFFs, proving again that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only a bad owner.

The film was made as part of Pixar’s SparkShorts programme, which is the brainchild of Rosana Sullivan and was realised by director Kathryn Hendrickson. It tells of an “unlikely connection that sparks between two creatures” living in horrendous and difficult conditions. The film was shown and since then has had over 8 million views.
