The story of the Chinese farmer
(Films For Action) The Story of the Chinese Farmer. “The whole process of nature is a process of immense complexity and it is really impossible to tell whether something that happens in it is good or bad.” A parable about life and nature narrated by Alan Watts, animated by Steve Agnos, and with music by Chris Zabriskie.
The Chinese farmer
“Many things happen in life they may seem terrible in the moment. You lost your job, you got dumped, you didn’t get into the right school, etc. However, later on that event, which seemed so bad, turned out to change your life course and lead you to something positive. It is impossible to tell if anything that happens is “good” or “bad”. They key is to flow like water through rocks. Be adaptive, especially to events that are outside of your control. Don’t get hung up on any one thing. Many of the most successful people credit their lowest failures for their ultimate success. Sometimes it takes a very negative event to push us to make a positive change”.
