Kinesiology and our bodies wisdom about eating
(OMTimes | Dr. Paul Haider) We have become so dependent upon science that we have forgotten the innate wisdom of our bodies. Through Kinesiology, we can relearn to listen to our bodies.
Kinesiology and our body wisdom
It seems that people have lost the ability to listen to their bodies. Especially when it comes to food, this has a lot to do with making science more important than intuition. We have become so dependent upon science that we have forgotten the innate wisdom of our bodies. We have billions of never cells in our brain, and we have billions of nerve cells in our gut. So, when we have that gut feeling that something is not suitable for us… we should listen to what our body is saying. It’s time to listen to our innate body wisdom and become healthy.
Take, for instance, eating something full of sugar, and right away, we feel up for a moment, but within a few minutes, we feel down and dragging. Our body is trying to tell us that this food is really not good for us and that we should stay away from sugary treats. But are we listening?
Let’s make fresh organic kale, cucumber, and apple juice drink, within 30 seconds of drinking this juice. We feel up, light, full of energy, and focus and feel centered. And there is no crashing and down feeling later. Within seconds of drinking the juice, our body tells us what’s going on. Our body has its own innate wisdom that we need to connect with.
What is kinesiology
Here’s a great mind/body wisdom test that anyone can try. Have someone take some green leafy organic veggies and put them in a brown paper bag. Then, take a small amount of vodka, wine, or some other alcoholic beverage in a jar and put it in a brown paper bag. Ensure there is no way to tell from the outside or from the weight what’s inside each bag. Now have the other person give you one of the bags and hold it in your right hand. Then hold your left arm straight out, and be strong, not allowing anyone to push it down. Then have the other person try to push slightly down on top of the outstretched hand. It’s incredible that even though the person holding the bags doesn’t know what’s in the bag… they go weak with the alcohol and become strong with the veggies. Now do the whole process again using organic veggies and some processed food full of chemicals… and 99% of the time, it works the same way —Wow!
This testing method is called kinesiology. Many alternative medicine practitioners such as chiropractors, alternative nutritionists, herbalists, and healers of many kinds use this healing method. Using this process, they can find out what’s healing and healthy for an individual, what a person is sensitive to, and create a roadmap to healthy eating and healing. For those who are scientifically minded, this may seem crazy. Still, kinesiology has been around for hundreds of years and does work. Even the editors of some of the most prestigious world’s medical journals have said that more than 50% of the research is false. We need a new paradigm to create wisdom about eating and health in general.
Listen to your own body
Every one of our bodies is different. We are all individual people, and because of that, certain foods are good for us, and others are not. Of course, some general themes do work when it comes to eating right. Like organic fruits and veggies are healing, and high cholesterol fatty foods and processed foods create disease. But when in doubt, don’t take my word for it or anyone else’s word for it. Allow your own body to decide.
Our bodies know what they need if we give them half a chance. It’s time to start relying on our body’s wisdom and seeing our body as something important instead of just a machine. But even a device or a computer will not work correctly when fed the wrong information or fuel. If we take a gas engine and pour in water, it will not work.
There is an old saying when it comes to computers, junk in – junk out. And that’s precisely what we get with our bodies… it is no different at all.
It’s time to listen to our body wisdom.
And feed our body exactly what it needs to feel GREAT!
