The energy of color in your life
(OMTimes | Jill Mattson) By learning to sense the subtle energy of colors you can use them to harmonize and balance you and your whole life on the mental, emotional and physical and spiritual levels.
The colors of life and the energy of color
The energy of colors does change your life – subtly. You just don’t notice its soft and subtle impact, but you are continuously surrounded by color, and its cumulative impact is quite significant. But how can color change your life?
Everything is energy and therefore has a vibration – that can be counted by the number of vibrations in a given period. This includes colors. For example, you can count the vibrations per second of colored light.
How does a color influence other things? Vibrations nearby influence and change each other. Always. This is indisputable science. Colors have distinct vibrations.
Energy is subtle
The scientific phenomena of resonance describe how energy transfers to many different things. If you have two violins nearby and you pluck the A string of one of them, the other A string will softly sound on the nearby violin. Imagine a porthole between the two instruments – and energy going between them. Subtly the energy from the same pitch travels to another item of the same pitch. This is called resonance. Not only does energy transfer between the same pitch, but it also (to a slightly lesser extent) transfers between octaves and some musical intervals. (An octave is the same musical note, just higher or lower. If you have an A string and cut the string in half, it will still sound an A note, but it will be a higher-pitched A or said differently, it will be an octave of the original A.)
Energy from light and sound
If you take colored light down octaves, you eventually reach the frequencies of the notes in our musical scale. Energy transfers from the colored light to a musical note through octave resonance. Our emotions, brain waves and physical bodies are also energy. Colors can transfer energy to these, as well. The energy is subtle, and we may not notice if we are not paying attention or are not super sensitive. Yet, it is established that energies from colors influence people’s feelings. For example, people use colors to discuss emotions, “I was green with envy,” or “I was so mad I saw red,” or “I am blue today.” Colors amplify correlating emotions.
Most scientists believe that energy from light and sound do not interact as they have different properties. However, this idea is a foundational principle of ancient wisdom. We see this process working in different areas of our lives. For example, some have difficulty imagining that a colored light causes a physiologic effect inside the human body. Traditional medical research observed the effects of light within the body. Blue-light therapy is used for some types of neonatal jaundice. Blue light is applied to the skin to cause a chemical reaction in the blood circulating under the surface of the skin, effectively lessening bilirubin levels. In another case, an ultraviolet light generates the production of vitamin D. The human body produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. Finally, full-spectrum light exposure helps those with seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a condition believed to be caused by insufficient light exposure through the eyes to the hypothalamus, thence onto the pituitary gland, which controls the endocrine system. In these documented cases, light affects our physicality. It follows that each color of light has a different impact. If you had a nasty sunburn, wouldn’t it be more soothing to be within icy blue lighting than red hot lights?
What is color healing?
Two modern pioneers of color healing were Edwin Babbitt and Dinshah Ghadiale. The Dinshah Health Society offers a color-spectrum-based health system. This system has been in use since 1920 and was used in a major medical center in Philadelphia for many years. This system utilizes simple, low-powered lamps and color filters to counter particular physical problems.
Color healing is predicated on the belief that the chemical elements radiate a frequency resonant with the color spectrum. For example, the prevailing corresponding color wave of hydrogen is red, and that of oxygen is blue. Each organ has resonance with a color wavelength. The liver is believed to radiate energy that is an octave of red, the pituitary green, the spleen violet, the circulatory system magenta, and lymphatic system yellow (Dinshah information).
When a particular organ or body system is underactive, its energy has decreased, so an energizing color is projected on the skin near the organ (sometimes the entire body). If a system is overactive (for example, fever), the remedy is the opposite, and a depressing color is used. Everything on the red side of the spectrum is more or less stimulating, while the blue portion is sedating. Color therapy was used in ancient times. If someone were depressed he would wear red, eat red food, and be surrounded by the color red. If he were stressed, he would immerse himself in calming blue.
Their ray is described as a color
In antiquity, we find many stories of angelic beings and ascended masters who are categorized according to the “rays.” Their ray is described as a color. For example, Arch Angel Michael is associated with blue, and St. Germain is linked to the color violet. Ancient masters maintain that a color ray relates to emotions, thoughts, and physicality. When one ascends to become a higher level being than a human, he must first master the rays of all colors. After that is achieved, the “specializes” in color, which translates that he specialized in certain emotions and thoughts.
Different avatars, such as Jesus or Buddha, came to Earth to demonstrate mastery in a certain “ray.” Jesus is associated with yellow, while Buddha links to the color green. Each one of us also radiates a predominant color, representing our life lessons and personality.
Color energy influences you on all levels
The author has created musical rainbow gardens featuring the sounds of color rays along with channeled energy of masters and angels, to amplify the color healing process (Contacting Angels & Masters CD). Meditating on the color rays with their corresponding sounds allows you to ingest the colors of the rainbow in a calming and masterful manner! Included in this body of information is the relationship of colors to personality traits, good habits, and physical health. Practical applications of this information include things like imagining your liver in red light to tune it and associating red with an action-oriented person.
Also related to colors are astrological signs. Not only may a zodiac sign describe your personality, your sign often relates to your fundamental color. Some people learn several rays (fundamental colors) within a lifetime, and their birth color may shift. Most people radiate their birth color for their entire life.
If you love your birth color it is most likely your fundamental color. Occasionally a person’s primary color will shift during a lifetime. Your fundamental color will be one that you love and are attracted to – more so than the other colors.
A deeper understanding of the energy and information within colors is revealed by studying complementary colors. Not only do complementary colors look good for decorating, but the vibrational math of the colors reveals that they balance each other. Think of a seesaw in which the seats are painted complementary colors. When one colored seat is high, the other is low. When you have too much red energy, lower it with the color green. In another use of this information, if you feel “green with envy,” then wear red to temper that emotion!
Surrounding yourself with your fundamental color and/or its complement will be harmonizing and balancing for you! Notice your favorite color (fundamental color) and pay attention to how you feel around it. Next play around with how you feel surrounded by its complementary color. Surround yourself with the color that subtly feels the best. Both are valuable to you. When you feel out-of-sorts, use your color or its complement to provide balance and harmony. You may imagine the color and, better yet, surround yourself with the color.
Colors are far more than decorating tools – they are energy that influences you on all levels – body, mind, and soul. The colors that you surround yourself with are like portholes to other energies that you quietly and sublimely absorb – on the mental, emotional and physical and spiritual levels. By learning to sense the subtle energy of colors you can use them to harmonize and balance you – your whole life.
